Technical Proficiency
The technique to play at speed and under pressure, built in training every weekday at Ciudad Deportiva FACSA.
The coaching staff runs training and competition for the academy squads, and develops four things in every player: technique, tactical understanding, physical conditioning, and mental resilience.
On-field development works on four pillars at once, with the Human Performance department alongside the coaches.
The technique to play at speed and under pressure, built in training every weekday at Ciudad Deportiva FACSA.
Understanding the game, and your role in the team’s model.
Planned with the Human Performance staff, so the week builds you up for the match instead of wearing you down.
Composure and confidence in competition, with sports psychology support from the Human Performance department.
Every academy squad plays federated competition in the Valencian federation (FFCV), with the men's and women's first teams above them, climbing the Spanish pyramid.
Every squad plays a league match most weeks, usually on the weekend, and the week is planned backwards from it, together with the Human Performance staff.
Recovery. The session after the match adapts to the minutes you played. Goalkeepers also train on the pitch, for extra time on the field.
Training at Ciudad Deportiva FACSA from 09:00 to 13:00, with gym work on two mornings.
Short and sharp: expression, not fatigue.
Usually on the weekend, confirmed by your Head Coach each week.
Coaches bring the football: its demands, selection, and competition. The performance staff bring strength, power, speed, and load. They plan every week together.
A small-sided game and a full-pitch game can cover the same distance and load a player very differently, so the week’s formats are planned with the performance staff.
Minutes, knocks, and discomfort go from the pitch to the performance staff.
Maintain, modify, or intervene: the same three decisions for every player, on the pitch and in the gym.
Goalkeepers train with two specialist coaches: Julio Clemente with the Men's U19 and the Women's B, and Diego Ortega with the Men's B and C. Julio coaches from experience: his own playing career at the highest level, and years spent training goalkeepers.
